The WhiteRock Research Education and Nature Center (WREN Center) is 501(c)3 nonprofit that was founded by a group of scientists and nature enthusiasts in 2024. With the leadership and inspiration of renowned educator and stream ecologist, Dave Penrose and founder of the Laurel River Room, Dr. Mary Sauls Kelly, their vision is now coming to life.
Mission
Promote public awareness, ecological study and conservation of the unique natural heritage of Laurel River Watershed, Madison County NC in partnership with the Laurel Community Center.
