The Laurel Community Center is excited to be a Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail site! The Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail is a series of curated snorkel sites nestled in the mountain rivers of North Carolina and in 2024, the Laurel Community Center became an official snorkel site. Our site offers three public access points to the pristine waters of the Shelton Laurel Creek where there is an abundant diversity of aquatic insects, minnows, darters, fish, and other critters that contribute to our creek being recognized as an Outstanding Resource Water (ORW) due to our excellent water quality.
